Ocean Rover is one of the only purpose purpose built steel dive live aboard vessel operating in Indonesia. She was built by one of Asia's most respected dive operators Fantasea who were based in Thailand for many years. The owner and cruise director Mark Strickland made lots of fine tuning to the design and extra touches from the cruise director and photographer Mark Strickland. She has been brought to Indonesia by the new very proud owner who acts as cruise director and does a great job of ensuring his guests are very well looked after. Roman was running a smaller boat prior to purchasing Ocean Rover and has managed to bring onboard a fantastic, hard working crew. It was noticeable that the crew are all very proud to work onboard Ocean Rover.

There are 3 guest cabins on the main deck and 4 guest cabins on the upper deck. For those who don't want to keep going upstairs you can choose the main deck cabins. As this is a very stable vessel there is no need to worry about rock & roll on the upper deck, which is often the case on many of the less stable wooden vessels. Every cabin has it's own air conditioning unit, en-suite shower and toilet facilities with loads of storage space...
Dive Systems
Having a huge rear dive deck with tons of space and rear deck entry system onto tender boats makes this an excellent boat for diver divers. For safety a tender boat is always in the water for pick-ups. Both tender boats have very good stainless steel boarding ladders. Ocean Rover usually offer 4-5 dives per day including a night dive, depending on the logistics of the itinerary.
Let's not forget Food
Wake up starts with a wake up bell at 6.30am with with light snacks, toast, tea coffee and even an espresso machine which are all self service. The first dive starts at 7.00am, then after the first dive a full breakfast is offered, eggs any way you like and a a variety of other foods available, such as cereals, friend rice/noodles, croissants, toast and fresh juices. Lunch and evening meals are served buffet style, with plenty of fresh vegetables and good variety of local and western style meals.
Ocean Rover Conclusion
I have made a check out cruise and in my mind this is by far the best high end dive boat for real diver divers and an outstanding vessel for photographic groups!
